Trebal Plant Manager
Ready for a new challenge? We are looking for a Plant Manager that will be responsible for the day to day running of the main FiberLean Plant, Trebal, St Austell.
FiberLean is a global leader of MFC and has made significant breakthroughs in new applications and platform technology. Currently employing nearly 100 colleagues across the globe, with head-offices in the UK and Germany with plans for further Global expansion.
This position will be responsible for the day to day running of the main FiberLean Plant at Trebal. To ensure products are delivered to customers on time, safely meeting the required tonnage, quality, environmental and production costs and targets.
Job Scope
- Manage the planning of production & logistics to achieve budgeted tonnes of fit for use product at, or below, budgeted costs.
- Identify training needs and development needs of all employees under direct control and supervision.
- Organise and plan, holiday arrangements, training, and sickness cover, ensuring that the plant is always operated by trained & competent personnel.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
- Maintain a Safe and Environmentally compliant operation within the defined area of responsibility. Giving priority to all aspects of health, safety & environmental issues, working closely with and supporting works representatives, ensuring that technicians, temporary employees & contractors comply with all site rules.
- Communicating fully and openly with all personnel, to ensure that effective working relationships are developed and maintained.
- Work closely with all relevant sections to ensure that all customer needs are satisfied.
- Communicate clearly to line management, when it is identified that a customer’s requirement may not be met.
- Plan to produce the required tonnes of fit for use product. Operate the process at optimum cost.
- Plan & organise the movement of products to intermediate storage facility or customer site.
- Be willing to travel overseas on customer trials if required.
- Effective production planning and operation to anticipate and fulfil all customer requirements.
- Closely monitor laboratory results & adjust process parameters to ensure quality is maintained.
- To identify further opportunity for rationalisation of process operations and potential cost reductions.
- Close working relationship with Maintenance teams / contractors to plan appropriate repair, service and preventative maintenance schedules.
- Attend meetings, reporting on any relevant production issues and responding on any action items in a timely manner.
- Help to ensure adequate stocks of consumables are held at Trebal. Complete Inventory checks & complete reports as required.
- Compliance with all current Workplace legislation.
- Produce and distribute accurate & timely project reports as required.
- Participate in the development of new products and technologies.
- Deliver training packages, Tool-Box Talks as required to ensure workforce are kept up to date with latest EHS & Quality initiatives etc.
Job Specifications
- Minimum HND or equivalent in Minerals Processing / Chemical Engineering
- Minimum five years within the mineral extractive or materials handling industry of which minimum two years in a managerial capacity
- IOSH Managing Safely
- Experience managing teams within a shift working / day work environment.
- Knowledge of the markets & customers that our products are used for (desirable).
Physical and Environmental Aspects
- Office based but also required at times to assist the Operational Process Technicians in main plant. 70% office based, 30% out on sites, walking / manual handling / using tools etc.
- Up to 10% travel, occasionally more
- Ability to work at height or in Confined spaces when necessary
- Must hold current driving licence & Business Insurance
